For instance, a range of reds from light to dark might be present, along with a range of yellows, but the reds and yellows are isolated from one another and do not blend to create an orange. Dichromatic paintings/drawings can create an artificial, graphic, or supernatural impression.
The two colors used in a dichromatic piece might be chosen as symbolic representations of the character of a subject, object, or scene.
