• The form of a character/object is broken into parts that are displaced

With disjointed distortion, character or objects are portrayed with certain features rearranged, as if they are seen from different points of view, as in cubism, with multiple impressions shown simultaneously.

Disjointed distortion might express the disintegration of the character or object, mentally or physically.

Conflicts within a character can be shown as fragmented and conflicting points of view, perhaps with each fragment painted/drawn using a unique set of art elements, varying colors, values, textures, indication of form, etc.

Disjointed forms might also express the artist’s inability to make sense of a complicated person, object, scene, or time.
