Elongated distortion makes characters or objects seem taller and thinner. This might give an impression of wiry fragility or it could be a form of idealization.
Elongation might occur due to an artist’s unconscious tendencies, a conscious preference for elongated characters/objects, a cultural preference for depicting characters/objects in a more elongated fashion, or as a choice to accentuate an already long, tall character/object.
